Help send Bush back to Crawford, TX permanently
by contributing to John Kerry's campaign. We need to raise $100 dollars for each of the 1,446 miles between the White House and the Bush ranch in Crawford, Texas. We have 1,345 miles to go.

1. reality check . . .
how many Senators have been elected president? . . . when did that last happen? . . .

the American voters hate Congress, and there's no way they're going to elect a Senator or House member . . . they figure (and rightly so) that if a politcian can't distinguish himself as a leader OF HIS OWN PARTY, then what kind of leadership will he bring to the nation? . . . and most of the Congresscritters in the running have basically been Bush enablers, from the phony war to the Patriot Act to bankruptcy reform, and on and on . . . people just aren't going to elect someone from Congress, as history has proven time and again . . .

that's not to say they'll elect one of the non-Congresspersons (Dean or Sharpton) either . . . having played the politics game since the mid-60s, my gut tells me that none of the current candidates are going to take down Bush, particularly with his bankroll, his willingness to spend our money to build up his own candidacy (e.g. pouring money into Florida), his equal willingness to start wars or instigate terrorist attacks as necessary, and his virtually complete control of everything that happens in DC . . . our problem as Democrats is that we don't yet have that winning candidate, and we're deluding ourselves to think otherwise . . .

2. it would be better
if they had a local story for each state or town they "passed through" telling how bush's policies have hurt local citizens.

it would make it more "real."
