Jittery U.S. Soldiers Kill 6 Iraqis

<snip>But Hikmat Salman, Ali Salman's father and a Shiite Muslim, said he was not interested in revenge. He said he would leave that to God.

The Kawaz family, also Shiites, also said they would leave revenge to God.

"I wish Saddam (Hussein) would return and kill all Americans," Anwaar Kawaz said. Under Saddam, "we used to go out at one in the morning. We went out at 9 now and they killed us.

"I want to drink Bush's blood. They are all criminals," she said, beating her chest.

1. I'm starting to sound like a broken record. Why the hell would they...
like us?

Lessee: We help install Saddam in 1979. We gave Saddam the weapons he used on the Shiites. After Gulf War I, we encourage them to rise up only to stand aside and let Saddam slaughter them again. And now, even though they are the MAJORITY of Iraq, we will marginalize them for fear Iraq would become West Iran.

Yeah, I bet they just can't find enough rose petals to throw in our direction.

3. They'll like us because the..
arrogant, incompetent assholes of the Siministration say they will. There was ample warning that this whole deal would spiral in, but do they give a fuck? NFW.

4. It's a 128 degrees
in Iraq, can't say I blame them for being po. no electricity=no ac. HECK, I'd through a few stones for that. Saddam officially came to power in 79 but we helped him before then. In fact as vp he defied Opec,as a member, to sell gas to our country during the oil embargo. Ended a national crisis, made him and his country fat! That's why in spite of the 3rd world thing they have electricity to begin with. Shi'ites, hated Saddam, hate us more! Fueled by compliments of Iran.

5. It's the Kurds that are supposed to be on our side
We're probably screwing that up right now, too.

6. Not quite
Two different factions of Kurds. They're on our side for now. But in the end unfortunately it's going to come down to power. Kurds honestly not sure which group has been carrying out terriorist activities in Turkey for years. Oh but that's right our government is calling them "freedom fighters". Just like the Sandinistas.
