Does Character really matter to Republicans?
That was the constant theme against Clinton. "Character Matters" was all we heard. It was about Clinton's supposed infidelities. Supposedly if he would cheat on his wife he would cheat on America. Well Arnold's infidelities are notorious. Will Republicans still say Character matters? Is there any way we can hold their feet to the fire on this issue? They are trying to get Davis to say he won't use any "negative campaigning" but is this an issue that is negative?

1. If they vote for Arnold, abortion is obviously not as important to them...
as they pretend. Arnold is "pro-choice". Is that indicative of their character?

2. The neocon power structure in the GOP
does not care about character, patriotism or any other principle other than power. Their use of these phrases is all part of their propaganda war disinfiormation campaign against the AMerican people.

5. During the 2000 election...
...character became fucking your wife. If you fuck your wife, you have character and integrity. What the fuck ever. Go away, shut up, put a gun in your mouth and end it all...:hurts:You stupid Republican idiots.

7. After watching a whole generation of Neocons in action
I would have to say that for Repugs, character is a weapon, not a shield.

8. only in their opponents
time to realize this: the vast majority of republicans are not going to be swayed by visions of their party's hypocricy. some will refuse to see, some will be too stupid to see, and most just won't fucking care.

14. Character NEVER mattered to them - or explain Newt, Henry Hyde, Bob
Barr, Dan Burton, Helen (?) Chenowyth (sp?), GHWBush, Ronald Reagan, or the classic of all - the hero worship over Oliver North (who almost won a Senate Seat??????) and G Gordon Liddy.

In fairness though, there is an offshoot of one of the family values coalitions that is forming a group in Cal to fight Arnie due to his "moral character" (or perceived lack thereof).

15. Excellent Character
Most Republican politicians seem to have excellent character, brand-new, never-used, still in its original box!

18. All the Republicans I know are full of hypocrisy
similar to "Sunday morning Christians". They are full of sanctimony yet will stab you in the back the first chance they get. Holier-than-thou, their lives do do reflect the one they preach.
