Dennis Kucinich meetup in NYC
Just some quick notes - about 50-60 people, all ages, all ethnic groups, very diverse, mostly educated it seemed, but certainly not yuppies or upper middle class, although there were a few. We actually took votes on how to proceed, signed up volunteers, got the mailing lists together. We'll have another in 2 weeks or so. All the democracy you could stand :)

Women ran the entire meeting.

Same make-up as my group-

all ages, all ethnic groups, very diverse, mostly educated

and all very socially committed.

This only reaffirms my conviction that Kucinich is really the people's candidate. Thanks for that comment.

Oh... A man ran our entire meeting until 2 of us females gently pushed him to the side ;) because he was just droning on and on and and taking too long to get to the ACTION part...

3. heh, us men hardly got a word in edgewise
There were *so* many charismatic women there with very strong personalities, it really struck me. I'm used to seeing men run these kinds of groups, and it really stood out that this one was different. I always wondered about Kucinich's anti-choice votes and how that would effect the campaign, it certainly seems that issue has been put to rest.

Tinoire, where was you meetup?

5. JK, I thought of you
While I was there, I thought of some of the other Kucinich fans and wondered about meetups in their areas - Virginia huh, tough :) You would have loved it. Kucinich people are the best!

7. Ours too.
This is a good description of the so cal meetup I attended, although we didn't have that many people. Probably between 25-30. A big improvement over the meetup we did July 3rd, where there were only 3 of us!
