Doctors Push National Health Insurance
"Nearly 8,000 U.S. physicians are calling for government-financed national health insurance, which they say would cover every American while saving billions of dollars."

<snip>

"HMOs, launched as health care's bright hope, have raised Medicare costs by billions and fallen to the basement of public esteem. Investor-owned hospital chains, born of the promise of efficiency, have been wracked by scandal," the doctors write. "And drug firms, which have secured the highest profits and lowest taxes of any industry, price drugs out of reach of those who need them most."

<snip>

"Americans spend $1.6 trillion on health care, which the doctors say is more than enough money to cover every American. The doctors contend that there will be at least $200 billion in administrative savings in a single-payer, national insurance plan."

1. My doctor
says that it is important to have holistic, integrative medicine as a part of any health plan. Her focus is to check out people, take blood tests, and then to plan out a diet that is right for the individual to remain healthy. Her goal is to have people living a viable, healthy life until they die. I know her ideas work-she saved my husband's life and has improved my health considerably!

2. "Medicare for ALL" should be our Democratic rallying cry!!
The program that has saved thousands from early death and has enabled thousands to have a good quality of life in retirement SHOULD BE FOR ALL!!

3. So. They've finally come around.
Took long enough.

Ask me if I'm sorry because the HMOs made the doctors suffer, too.

I'm delighted. Every time they howled in agony, I laughed louder.

4. It sure does.
Is there anybody who doesn't have a family member or neighbor who is uninsured?

Does anybody know someone with an HMO horror story?

I can answer yes to both.

5. Awesome! Let's hope they can reform the system!
They from within can do the most reform of they speak out enough.

6. Yes, the reluctant darlings have already figured out that
free market doesn't work for health care. Actually, many savvy physicians have already been promoting national health care for decades now and I thank them for all the information they were willing to give me about it.
