Question for DU airline pilots

Was just meaning to ask if you would ever go so far as to give the "highjack this" speech

1. I'm not an airline pilot

but personally I was highly irritated when I got the "we're all in this together and don't let anyone hijack this airplane" speech the first time I flew about six weeks after Sept 11. After taking away anything we could conceivably use to defend ourselves, the pilot had the audacity to get on the PA and tell us to stand up for ourselves and overpower anyone who tried to take over the plane. It was all I could do not to ring the flight attendant call button and request that they return my nail clippers.

It's patronizing in the extreme.
