Al Franken strikes back..
I'm sure people have discussed this all day, but it still makes me laugh.

Talk about being desperate. Fox News' lawsuit not only mentions the fact that he used "their" slogan, but they even say he's not funny and lacks any depth or insight. That's their way. When they can't think of anything tangible to work with, they get personal.

1. Go get 'em Al
This is heartening to see--a liberal not taking what conservatives dish out to him--imagine that! ;-)

Thanks for the link, Darth_Ole

2. Kick ass, Al
- snip -

Fox alleged that Franken was "either intoxicated or deranged" when he attacked the network and conservative host Bill O'Reilly at an April press correspondents dinner. The lawsuit also says that Franken has been described as "increasingly unfunny."

"As far as the personal attacks go," Franken responded, "when I read `intoxicated or deranged' and `shrill and unstable' in their complaint, I thought for a moment I was a Fox commentator.

"And by the way, a few months ago, I trademarked the word `funny.' So when Fox calls me `unfunny,' they're violating my trademark. I am seriously considering a countersuit."

3. Al's obviosly a nut but...
I was going to say something like all publicity is good but Al Franken is a nutcase. Luckily what he says won't hurt too badly because people realize this. Sure some parts are true but I hope the weather is good whereever Al is.

6. Al's no nutcase...
He's very educated and keeps up to date on current events.

The fox lawsuit is completely baseless.

He's an unabashed Democrat, and one who can handle a debate - did you see the C-Span book tour spat between him and o'rielly?

16. I heard about this two hours ago...
...and I am a little late, but I am still very mad. Fox shouldn't sue him!!!!! Bill O'Reilly HAS to somehow be behind this.

20. Take heart. Franken's book sales shot up 11,000%
today on Amazon.com, he's currently at #1 on advance orders alone as the book isn't even on sale yet.

So if nothing else he has his legal fees taken care of .

Everyone is saying that Fox does not have a legal leg to stand on. O'Reilly must be telling the truth when he says he is out of sorts with the Bush camp, because the right reacted very differently to David Brock's "Blinded by the Right", they absolutely collectively blacked it out and refused to even bring it up or acknowledge it, understanding, apparently what Fox doesn't, that that there really is no such thing as bad publicity.
