Saw another Kerry bumpersticker today
in conservative Buford, GA. All 3 that I have seen have been in Buford in the last week. I gave the guy today a thumbs up when I drove past him. Also, yesterday the retired woman who lives across the street had her son over doing yardwork and he commented about our bumperstickers to my husband---said he needs to get some. We each have a Kerry one and my husband has 2 anti-Bush. So far, living in GA, I have seen 2 Bush/Cheney 04 and 3 Kerry ones.

2. I saw one on a truck in Highland Park in Dallas...
That is like seeing a Jew at a Klan rally.
I was shocked and happy at the same time.

6. I have friends on Crescent and on Lexington in HP who are big Dems.
You will see some Kerry yard signs on those streets soon. That said, Highland Park still remains 90+% GOP.

3. live in the city, work in the suburbs
milwaukee is a traditionally strong democratic city (our final 2 mayoral candidates this past april were both quite liberal). i take the freeway 15 minutes north to the suburbs to where i work at a small franciscan (but still relatively liberal) college. it's interesting to see the transition from kerry/anti-bush stickers to the large numbers of pro-bush stickers in my short drive every day.

5. I'm seeing more and more of them but ....
then I'm in Southern California. I always honk and give the thumbs up to the other cars. On my car I have "peace, back by popular demand" with the peach sign, and a W with the line through it.

4. I Saw
about 10 cars on the NJ Thruway on Sunday. I was so happy. When I looked into the cars they were older people and white. Really shocked.

7. I've seen plenty, but I live in CT
I expect Senator Kerry to win our state by double digits with little to no effort.

I have also seen:
Anybody But Bush

and

2004: Re-Defeat Bush

9. Saw a 760 Volvo on my gravel mountain road yesterday ...
This older Volvo had JESUS IS A LIBERAL and a Big BuSINness (with the "SIN" in red) bumper-stickers. 'Course my Subaru wagon has DemocraticUnderground and HONOR THE WARRIOR, NOT THE WAR (VVAW) stickers.

BTW: Where can I get a Kerry sticker? I sent the Kerry campaign a big check and asked for a sticker, but never got it

12. I gave out about a dozen last night
I will be giving out more tonight.

Buy your own here:
http://www.kerrygear.com/
http://www.kerrywholesale.com/

give them to friends, show up at events that should attract progressives like the movie, Day after tomorrow, then hand them out. Be aware of private property.

I would just stand there. with the bumper stickers in front of me. If a person makes eye contact, offer them one. If they look at the sticker and smile, offer them two.

the bumper stickers give the most bang for the buck. We need a show of numbers ASAP.

Get them and pass them out.

Go down to the county clerk's office and get some voter registration forms. set up a table and sign up people to vote. Wear your Kerry stickers and buttons, but do not try to direct them to any party or candidate. Make it clear you are just getting people involved in the elections. Don't forget to take the completed forms back to the county clerk's office.

Get some Rally signs, then nearing the election start standing out on the corner of busy intersections with your sign. Smile and wave. Get friends to do it with you. Be friendly, don't argue, or make unflattering gestures.

Campaigns are not just for the candidate and his official campaign. Be aware of any and all laws pertaining to your activities. Keep records of what you spend, and only spend your own money.

Go to meetup.com or access it through Kerry's site.http://www.johnkerry.com/ (top right) Get active.

23. Last night I went to my union meeting, NALC
branch 361. I had a stack of bumper stickers and pins. I gave away all of them.

The more there are out there, the more demoralized the opposition.

13. Bad news from KC
The only place I see enough to notice are in the city. I would say the majority of stickers in the subs. and rural areas are for the current regime.

22. We need to get all supporters to sport some type of Kerry
sign, button or sticker. If anything, it will mess with the repub mind. Anything we can do to show them we are a growing force, the better.

15. I have 4 Kerry bumper stickers on my truck &
at least 4-6 anti-Bush stickers. I have about 20-25 anti-Bush stickers that I rotate through. There are some great stickers at IrregularTimes.com. Some of my faves that I sport about:

Save a tree, remove a Bush

If you can read this, you're not the President.

Bush surplus: $0
Bush deficit: $4,000,000,000
Bush out of office: Priceless

Bin Laden still has his job, do you still have yours? Dump Bush

Get a clue George: Tax cuts don't matter if you don't have a job.

George W. Bush IS the weapon of mass destruction.

Beware a President who says, "I feel good" on the eve of war.

Bush lied
Soldiers died
Iraqis fried
Cronies ride
Dump Bush

No one died when Clinton lied.

The Truth? Never touch the stuff. (picture of Bush)

Bush, a fool without a doubt.

Your kid is next.

It's nuclear, not nu-kyoo-lar, you idiot.

Oh and soooooooo many more! It's embarrassing that our commander in chief is such a blazing idiot!

20. Especially good
Considering the area, it's an act of uncommon bravery to put a sentiment out there like that in "Bush Country." But it's also especially good in that it gives credibility and support to people who might be thinking that Kerry represents a palatable alternative to His Chimperial Majesty. Helps folks to understand that they're not alone.

For that reason, Kerry bumperstickers in Bush country attract a lot of unwanted attention from folks who'd rather that their neighbors not do too much thinking, lest they go mad and vote Democratic. As I said, it's a brave act, and should be supported by all DUers.
