13. didn't you hear? Global warming is caused by volcanoes...

A ditto-head tried to tell me that the polar ice caps were melting because of a new volcano recently discovered off the coast of Antarctica 900 feet below the ocean surface. It obviously never crossed his mind that 1) the volcano was at least (as the geologist put it) tens of thousands of years old (they discovered it a couple months ago, so it must only be a couple months old, right?), and 2) the ice is melting in the northern polar ice cap faster than the southern one.

I'm convinced that when it's said that humans only use 10% of their brains, it's because people like that bring down the average for the rest of us. The 10% figure is accurate in a "$1000 average bush-tax-cut" kind of way.
