So I got accosted today by a Freeper at Costco

Went to Costco to do some shopping with the daughter. We're walking through the TV section and they have CNN on just as all the Tenet stuff is breaking and we're standing there reading the crawl when this older guy comes up and asks me if we need help. I say "No thanks, we're just watching CNN." He continues to stand there so I comment "The president got a lawyer yesterday and now Tenet resigns and I just want to catch what they were saying about McCain..." (I never did find out what they were saying about McCain). So we go to the end of the aisle and there's more stuff on the crawl she and I are talking about so we stop again and the guy comes up to us again. I try to brush him off with a funny remark "We just come here to watch TV." Then he starts telling me about his dad who is a retired postman and he and his retired postman friends get together and sometimes the subject turns to politics and did I know that Kerry was at an anti-war rally with Jane Fonda? I explained to him that the photo he was talking about was doctored and it wasn't true. I told him he could look it up on Snopes. Then he goes "Well he was there with her." I go "He was there but not with her." He said "It's guilt by association." I said "If that's the case then we need to prosecute President Bush for knowing Ken Lay." Then he says "Well I will never vote for Kerry because he threw his medals over the wall." I explained "He threw his ribbons not his medals" and then when I tried to explain that he goes "That's treason!" So I just looked at him and said "Who outed Valerie Plame?" I then got the blank, cow staring at a passing train look and then he got a call on the radio. I concluded by telling him that I'll be voting for Kerry in November and he has my full support. Where do these people come from? Do they just believe everything they're told?

what can we all do? i was sure happy to read this post. i to do
nothing. i listen to news all day and watch fox at night. even fox
neglects to show any of the good things our volunteers are doing
over there . is there anything we can do to change this? i would

I've noticed that, too ibadreamer - that FOX News doesn't even
cover the good things our soldiers/nation is doing in Iraq. That
astounds me. I've e-mailed them about it several times, but of
course, who knows if anyone reads it. But you'd think at least
they would be happy to do a segment every day of something
GOOD - if nothing else, for our military! They deserve so much
more credit than their getting...
