Let the power of DU be heard!
I need information about this new perscription drug card program. Tomorrow morning I am going to be going to talk to Rep. Chris "Count Chocula" Chocola (R) about it at a town hall meeting he is hosting.

Specifically some items I will need.

Are there any pharmicutical companies contributing to his campaign?

What are the pros and cons of the card?

What are the problems with importing perscrition drugs from Canada (Something he voted against)

Who does this drug card program benefit?

And anything else you can think of. Help me speak the truth to them and to the seniors who are attending these meetings.

TIA!

2. an expert in eldercare here in NY
told my mom and others in her senior apartment complex told them they "shouldn't change what they currently have. THey are better off with NY's EPIC coverage."

Don't know if that helps.

4. There is not one card, whatever a given card says can be changed
tomorrow and again each day after that - from Drugs that get a discount, to the discount given for said drug.

Canada is always cheaper.

Internet legitimate pharmacies are almost always cheaper.

You pay for nothing - there is no benefit.

The program Only exists because of the 2.4 million in Medicare HMO's who were automatically signed up - the 0.5 million voluntary out of the goal of 5.0 million non-HMO sign-ups indicate folks can see they get no value for there money - that is a 10% response after Bush spent 100 million to have HHS run ads telling everyone what a great deal was coming.

The only benefit is the $600 of free drugs for those under $16,000 in income - and that is offset by the Medicaid changes being put through by the States that is forced by the GOP changes to Federal funding.
