Is F911 being widely released?
Perhaps the most important thing that needs to happen regarding this film is a large scale distribution all across the country.

Does anyone know the details of the scale by which F911 is being released? Is it on par with typical new releases in that it will be shown practically everywhere?

It will do little to no good if the only people who see the movie are those who already know its contents and are convinced by it.

1. Between 500 and 1,000 theaters
Wide for a documentary, but not for an entertainment film.

3. Michael Moore deserves moore respect (sorry bout the horrible pun)
He demonstrated his filmmaking ability with BFC while simultaneously showing that he can make a ton of money at the same time.

In my opinion, I think he deserves a standard wide release, the cost of doing so will easily be recouped.

4. In the best of all possible worlds, this is true...
but getting a theater owner to drop or shorten the run of some crappy summer "blockbuster" would be a hard sell, especially in the more "rural" markets.

But I live in downtown NYC, so I'm really spoiled. EVERYTHING plays here.

2. I would think so, but I'm not sure yet
Given the motivation of the all mighty dollar and all the hype around the movie I would think it will be a big seller. If you live in or near a college town you should have no problem seeing it, but in some of those small Bible Belt communities it may only have a limited release.

8. I'm sure it will open small
But if it does big numbers for two or three weeks, more theaters will open their doors.
