Bush's public speaking
Apologies if this topic was discussed to death but... yesterday I had the misfortune of watching some of Bush comments when he appeared with Australian P.M. Howard and later when he announced Tenet's resignation.

What an embarrassment!! You have five minutes to gather your thoughts, can't you, or your minions, think of at least the first two sentences that you are going to say?

At least Reagan was capable of reading his lines. Last year, when Bush eulogized the Columbia astronauts, I could not help but comparing his miserable reading to the dignified words of Reagan after the Challenger's disaster.

3. Word is that those around Reagan were lucky if they could get
more than "I like jellybeans!" out of him in the last 2-3 years.

President Baker.

2. His speech teachers are going bonkers.
His writers need more Prozac

His Pub Masters are questioning themselves

His Basement Crew are hitting the bottle big time

His Adminstration are laughing behind his back

No wonder he displays all the signs of being paranoid; "enemies abound all about him"

4. American Presidents
I have long ago resigned myself to the fact that American Presidents will no longer write their own speeches. But is it too much to expect a President to at least be able to read one?

5. Calling what Bush does, as "speaking" is giving the guy too much credit!
I remember his last press conference (April's stutterfest), and I came THIS close to feeling bad for his diehard fans. How the hell do you defend that? How the hell do you call the source of such gibberish "President?"

God help us all!

6. Even my mom, a staunch Republican, was disgusted with his recent
public performances.

I swear, I am *this close* to turning her!

WOO HOO!

8. Bush is losing it
That wasn't his usual stuttering, stammering, mangled grammar and syntax. Bush is losing it.

He fired Tenet in a fit of rage, sat on it overnight, abruptly announced it to his closest advisors, and then announced it to the public himself with little to no preparation.

Bush is definitely losing it.
