How is Kerry different from Mondale?
Keeping with the theme of the Reagan 1984/ Bush 2004 comparisons, what would be your comparisons and contrasts between Kerry and Mondale. Why would Kerry win the election as opposed to Mondale not winning?

1. Kerry is learning from Mondale and Dukakis campaigns
and from the Clinton campaign.on what to do and not to do. do you remember when he was asked a question about ban on flag burning.and kerry responded by saying he would want to punch anyone who burned a flag, but that in america they will have the right to do it. it was an example of his learning from dukakis on the question of rape and death penalty.

2. Bush is not Reagan in so many ways.
But I don't know Mondale enough to answer.

4. Kerry is polling far better, and Bush is far more unpopular than Reagan

Historical analogies are endlessly entertaining, but often filled with errors and specious reasoning. That's why I try to get away with them as often as possible. :D

Seriously, I don't think the two elections can be compared very well.

5. Well, for one, Kerry has learned the lessons of '84, '88 and '00.
The Republican Campaign Machine has become dirtier than the Nixon days, starting in '84, but especially '88, which for my money is still the dirtiest presidential campaign ever run.

It's a whole new political animal, '04 vs. '84. I just can't even really draw a comparison.
