Looks like he'll be next.

1. Seems to be in decent health
I don't see him in the media much, but from what I understand he is still fairly active.

Moreso than your average 91-year old.

2. I dunno: have you seen how the lizardness is attacking Poppy's left eye?
Ford turns 91 next month, but he is an athletic old guy.

Poppy Bush on the other hand looks like he is being invaded by evil spirits!

4. I have not seen or heard much from Ford the last few years.
He suffered a stroke a couple of months before the 2000 Republican Convention. However, he recovered enough to make an appearance at the Convention, and I was so surprised at how well he looked, considering his age (87) and his condition. He was moving and talking quite well.

I kind of attribute his longevity to his having been an athlete. He was an offensive lineman at the University of Michigan in the 1930s.

9. A few years ago I heard Ford express dismay
with the repub party as it is now. He's an "old school" guy who REALLY believes in less government and all that the repubs now profess to believe. But when Ford goes, I doubt that there will 24/7 coverage like there is with Reagan now.

10. how many Warren Commission members are still with us?
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 10:52 AM by cosmicdot
Ford, for sure ...

... Arlen 'single bullet theory' Specter worked with the Commission, too ...

- it's a shame neither will tell us the truth

- it would be so refreshing if either did

- it could reset our country's balance and course; and, bring some insight into the conflicting versions of history over the last 40 (144?)years ... why America is so divided?

an essay on the reasons here:
