I haven't watched TV or read the newspaper this weekend.
I haven't been thinking about Reagan (or Bush) very much at all.

Such peace...

Anyone who is worried about the Reagan reverbs ought to take a break from the spectacle.

1. Cable "News" is the biggest sham since....
the Ford Pinto. However, the Ford Pinto was less damaging to the nation.

:boring:

2. Me Neither---altho it helps that we don't have cable
We just have very basic cable---local channels, pbs, discovery, local state govt and 2 CSPANS. Oh and a shit-load of home-shopping, religious and a few multi-language channels, and we get CBUT which is canadian and quite interesting compared to US news.

I told my husband today that it's times like this where I'm GLAD I don't have cable (sometimes the choice of only 15 channels can be REAL boring---esp. at 2am on a Wednesday). Between Regan and D-Day, there would have been nothing for me to watch-----I guess, no disrespect for veterans or those involved in WWII, but it's just not my thing, and I've already seen about 13 hours of D-Day programming in the last week on PBS to satisfy me....I couldn't immagine having to wade through that AND the beatification of St. Ron at the same time on EVERY CHANNEL except Animal Planet :)

I was even spared Regan Coverage via the Newspaper, b/c in Seattle you can buy an early edition of the sunday paper (with coupons and all) on Saturday. So I got the sunday paper yesterday, which of course was distributed about 12 hours before Ronald Regan died.

5. I cancelled tv service.
I cancelled tv service.

I don't think there is any reason to avoid newspapers. If you don't feel like reading an article on Reagan, there are plenty of other articles.

6. thank god the Sunday NY Times was printed before Bozo died
I was dreading getting the NY Times, but was very pleasantly surprised to see today's Sunday Times with NOTHING on the front page about Bozo dying. (We upstaters get the early edition.) So I bought it and enjoyed it.
