How many of you feel alienated
when you see headlines like "America Mourns" or you read about Friday being a "National day of rememberance". Next week will be all Ronnie - all the time. Myself, I've sworn off network TV a long time ago, but now I can't watch any news networks, or even CSPAN for the most part. Right now, I'm watching History Channel shows about Americans who are the REAL goddamn heros that should be remembered.

I'm not going to mourn, so does that mean I'm not an American?

2. I hate the prick too, so does my GF.
So there's at least two people out there who aren't mourning his passing.

And for those who would like to piss on his grave, he'll be intered in a library or something. Down in LA area. Have fun and be sure to take pictures.

3. I'm sorry, but every progressive hates what this man stood for

You are by far not alone--I will not mourn him. I won't celebrate his death, but I won't mourn him--he caused, directly and indirectly, untold amounts of suffering on his fellow human beings.

House cleaning, studying, working full time, and raising a family. Who died again?

5. This stuff is typical
Even Nixon was praised as a great Prez after he kicked the bucket... I guess it is suppossed to be a unity thing.

6. Someone dies every ten seconds or so in America.
I don't mourn the passing of every stranger. If it makes me un-American if I don't mourn every time the government says "mourn", then I guess I'm un-American too.

9. I don't feel alienated at all
It is just American history unfolding. It doesn't control my feelings or repel me. It doesn't control my thoughts or change me. There are meaningful aspects of reality and reflection connected with Reagan's death and funeral. That doesn't mean you have to let all of these things define you. Absorb it and deal with it.

You're making a mistake by not watching C-Span.

10. I had a chance to go to Ronnie's library
a couple years ago. Went to Magic Mountain with my son instead. Never regretted the choice. MM was a time I'll always remember.

11. Reagan's the reason I'm a democrat
Watching him from the age of 9-17. And then seeing Bush go into office without my opinion being heard. Really pissed me off.

But my god, the man was 93 yrs old. My grandfather died at the age of 95, and he should of passed 10 yrs before he did. I don't hate Reagan, but I am happy that he is out of pain.

Watching people waste away, is not a good thing. And it is a relief when they finally go. I feel for the family right now. And I know one thing for sure. Nancy will be bringing up stem cell research this week. Which is a good thing.

12. See the Juan Cole piece on Reagan:
very good. He was essentially a mean man who dressed it well.

13. A little bit
The message that is being repeated on TV that Im starting to feel is that I have to support Reagan's policies in order to really mourn his death.
