"Ronald Reagan found the nation in economic and international decline. He turned around the economy with his tax relief, broke the back of the Soviet Empire, changed the direction and trajectory of American history.

"Ronald Reagan changed the Republican Party, the nation and the world.

Ronald Reagan was the greatest leader of the free world in the 20th Century. Franklin Delano Roosevelt left Europe half enslaved. Churchill left Britain in economic decline. Ronald Reagan both defeated the Soviet Union and began a period of economic growth that has lasted a generation and continues to this very day."

The Ronald Reagan Legacy Project is dedicated to promoting the legacy of President Ronald Reagan's leadership by working toward one significant monument named after him in each of America's 50 states, as well as some dedication in every county in America. To date, more than 60 monuments have been dedicated to the former president, such as Mount Reagan in New Hampshire. To see the complete list, visit RRLP's website at www.reaganlegacy.org . 2. "changed the world" is certainly true
Funding and training the mujahadeen led directly to Al Qaeda and the Taliban.

4. Revisionist history
"Ronald Reagan both defeated the Soviet Union and began a period of economic growth that has lasted a generation and continues to this very day."

I seem to recall a couple of recessions over the last two decades...

Ray-Gun is responsible for screwing our economy with devastating debt. Looks like your revising history for your idol. Aren't you glad you checked in at DU? You learned about Ron's failed trickle down economics.

5. Wow, leave it to Norquist to strip down history beyond all usefulness.
Mr. Tax-Bad excels at that.

6. Compare and contrast kids...
It's all how you frame it.

"George W. found the nation in economic and international ascension. He screwed around the economy with his tax relief, broke the back of the Middle East, changed the direction and trajectory of American history.

"George W. changed the Republican Party, the nation and the world, and not for the better.

George W. was the worst leader of the free world in the 21th Century. Franklin Delano Roosevelt saved half of Europe from slavery. Churchill at least was a great orator. George W. both defeated the United States and began a period of economic decline that has lasted a generation and continues to this very day."
