He did not even get to ride with Nancy, Ron Jr. or Patty. This is interesting.

4. They did not ride with the body. . .
. . .they made a point of saying that Nancy and her two kids were riding in the first car and Michael was in the second car with the Secret Service.

3. and I've read
he wasn't at Ronnie's bedside with the rest of the family until just after Ronnie croaked.

Nancy probably doesn't like him because it reminds her of Jane.

10. I don't think so
Nancy was very close to Maureen Reagan. I read that Jane has visited Ron over the years quite a bit while he was ill. They also were walking hand in hand at Maureen's funeral.

7. Well, he's not part of the "Nancy" part of the family, is he?
He's Ron's son either illegitimately or from a prior marriage? He didn't have contact w/his father until he was a grown man, I believe (Ron's choice....he wasn't a great father to any of his kids, is the word).

Maybe they're angry w/him for making the first statement on behalf of the family? I thought that was strange, given his position in the family. If he didn't have permission from Nancy, that may have caused a problem.

12. Nancy never liked Michael or Maureen very much
She was never very secretive of the fact that she did not really like Michael or Maureen, and hated even acknowledging that "Ronnie" was married to someone else before her.

18. Do a google search on Maureen Reagan
and you'll find otherwise ..... at least where Maureen is concerned. She was very close to Nancy.

26. Maybe later in life...not growing up

(Snip) "Maureen said she and her brother were kept at arm's length from Nancy and the other two Reagan children for years. Patti was 7 before she was told of her sister, Maureen. When she was 26, Maureen read an official biography of Reagan that said he had "two children, Patti and Ronnie."

Reagan did not attend his son Michael's wedding, going to Tricia Nixon's that day instead. According to Michael, the standard holiday invitation from Ronald and Nancy Reagan was "Come at 5 and be gone by 7."

I don't think she's all that well herself. Nancy likes to pretend she doesn't exist.

15. there are...
...probably all kinds of dynamics at work. Michael Reagan is the adopted son of Ronald Reagan. In a family with such dysfunction, there's no telling what dynamics are going on. It may be telling that Ronald Reagan attended Tricia Nixon's wedding instead of Michael Reagan's.

19. Ron, Nancy and Patty act as a unit. . .
. . .going to the casket and Michael is left to follow. This should be interesting in that Michael is a hero to those on the right. This behavior all week may piss off some.

20. Looks like Michael won't even sit next to Ron Jr.
His wife is in between them. Where's Ron's wife? They're all huddling and talking, but Michael is left out. I wonder if he's left out of the will, too?

21. He and Maureen were Ronald Reagan's children from
his first marriage. Not his immediate family now. Of course, the others have not capitalized so much on their father's name as he has. He is making the big bucks using his last name and luckily he was adopted by Reagan and his first wife.

23. but he's only done it since Ronnie can't object.
I remember how when Ronnie was prez and Michael was using his name in letters to promote himself. Ronnie told him to stop. They barely spoke back then and Ronnie never even saw Michael's kids till they were 3 or 4. All this time, Nancy was promoting her "Foster Grandparents" program.

25. Perhaps Nancy is a little pissed at Mikey
..because he's fully endorsed the neocon shitbag agenda on his radio show, and doesn't object when neocons compare the Chimp to his daddy.
