One of the local newspapers here reported today that a gay lawyer has gone to the Constitutional Court to ask them to declare same sex marriage legal.
Right now, it is prohibited by an article on the Family Code, which says that it is impossible to register a marriage by 2 people of the same sex.
This is certainly great news, although most of us expect it won't be accepted for now.
Just wanted to let you people know about this because it is an issue that has been discussed a lot here, and even though there may be differences of opinion in whether it should be called marriage or not, I'm sure 99% of DU'ers agree that gays should be entitled to the same rights as married couples.
