party politics is what's wrong here

It's gotten way out of hand for a few reasons. As many have said before we should be able to vote for whomever we want yet many make us feel like that would be damn near treason. It's also very restricting and quite possibly denying us the best possible candidate. There could be some verry smart, savvy and independent people out there capable of doing this job but won't be put under anyones' (or any corporations) thumb.

for you dem loyalists, if Orrin Hatch or Delay became a democrat and didn't change his tune would you suddenly yell hooray and vote for the dweeb?

Wht if Gore ran as a republican? is he now doomed?

When you come right down to it, a two party system is stupid, maybe that's what the greens are trying to say

shouldn't we just do away with all parties and let the candidates run on their own ideas and platforms? or is that too hard?

We have a 2 party system in America. I personally would love nothing more than to reinvent the wheel. Maybe if I visualize it enough times it will happen.

But guess what? Pollyanna thinking isn't going to make a difference right now. The more the vote is divided, the less power people will have and the more power the republican party will have.

A GREAT start would be for progressives in other states to put forth more progressie candidates instead of voting for the person with the D or the R next to their name...most people don't even know JACK about their congressman when they vote.

I on the other hand campaigned for Loretta Sanchez, campaigned for my state senator and raise money for my candidates.
