2. I spoke with a couple of soldiers while in the US
They both told me that Bush had not come through with promises of "help" for the military, that he was a huge disappointment, and these were conservative guys saying this. One was army enlisted, the other AF officer (ret).

8. Of course,THEIR take on it is
a man "dressed as a soldier".. Did it occur to any one of the reporters to actually go talk to him and ASK him if he was a soldier.. (or a vet wearing his old uniform??)..

They practice "don't ask...don't tell" joournalism.. If they don't ask, they can just keep on surmising, and making stuff up so it suits them and the admin..

11. not necessarily...
If he asked him, and quoted him, the soldier would be in a world of shit.

It's against the rules for active duty military to do that kind of stuff.

This way, he remains relatively anonymous.

13. Could possibly be.
Retirees are entitled to wear the uniform and use their titles of rank, pretty much for anything they want. I can even run for Congress as Staff Sergeant (Ret.) So-and-so if I wanted.

12. Oh, SHIT! I think that might be a recruiter badge on his shirt.
Anybody got a close-up? This is bad news for the Chimp, and it takes BALLS to willfully violate the UCMJ by participating in something like this IN UNIFORM.

I wonder what hell they're going to transfer him to tomorrow? I hear Fort Riley, KS, is hotter than blazes this time of year.

15. Many supported protesters during Vietnam
At many of the demonstrations during the Vietnam War, returning Soldiers spoke. Often they gave us the inside scoop because they worked at radio centers etc.
The regime at the time caused reports like 'spitting on baby killers' to be reported in certain papers. But you could tell it was BS because those reports were not in general circulation. But they tried . Hey ,it occurs to me that we swore WE would not be fooled again!
