Have You Details on This John King (CNN) Story?

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,122141,00.html

I was flipping thru the websites of cnn, fox and msnbc and saw this article "This is CNN?" by Greta Van Susteren. I liked her originally when she first started reporting during the OJ days. She was a defense lawyer, and more balanced than some others.

I was astounded when she switched to Fox.

Anyway, her article relays an experience she had on 9/11 (claiming CNN did not get her on the air when Pentagon was hit; she was at the airport and close by). She relays it by talking about "a web site" that she read where there is a story about John King. The "web site" according to Greta said this:

“CNN's John King yelled into his cell phone that CNN had been beaten and was so upset he threatened to quit. King ended his tantrum by throwing his cell phone to the ground. The meltdown was captured on tape.

Insiders credit ABC News chief David Westin with working the phones to break the story first"

What story? My fear is that it is the death of Reagan (and I am wondering why not the passion to report other stories of life and death - ones where the death is not inevitable. No offense to Reagan, but he was 93. Troops in Iraq would love to come home and live at least half that long. If it is not the Reagan story, then I am curious-what story.

I cannot find it on the Internet.

1. I think it was on Drudge last night about when ABC reported
that RR was dead. John King supposedly threw this little fit.

2. What Story? She Sez It Was RAYGUN's Death
Edited on Tue Jun-08-04 12:08 PM by UTUSN
"Here is the story reported about John King in reference to the breaking news about President Reagan's death:"

Greta left over AOL having taken over, backa then, with its different work culture, whatever THAT is. Also, there's been quite a bit of sniping back and forth between Faux and CNN---------Faux vs Chucky ZAHN, OLBERMAN vs Faux, etc. While Greta has cred, she just might be human enough to enjoy getting her own digs in.

As for the RAYGUN "news", it seemed to be expected with hours/days of lead time. Even here, blm put the word out that it was coming way ahead of time. What was KING's beef, to be the very FIRST to put it on the air? It would seem to be less intense than Greta's situation.

3. ABC did break the death of RR first...I was watching and surfing..
CNN had some show and it did not break the news for a long few minutes..

I was surprised that ABC had such a long time alone with the breaking news.

8. Thanks - Missed That
Why would King react to that - I'd rather see him hunting down a real story - investigative journalism.

AngryMNDem posted Reagan's death on DU just after 4 pm ET (said heard it on the radio) on Saturday, and even we doubted it - none of the networks had it on for 20 minutes or so.

I recall CNN took Zahn first, and then Greta went to Fox. Still seems so odd to me.
