A walk down Memory Lane: Freepers discuss Wellstone's death.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/779254/posts

Wellstone was a communist, an extreme leftist Amnerica-hating commie who would do anything to destroy our nation. He started out poisoning the minds of college kids. He learned to be likeable to develop a personal style that helped him mask his disdain for America. He may have been kind to puppies and little old ladies. He may have had an endearing personality that caused others to say that they "liked" him or "respected" him.
His actions and his ideology emphasize that he was an evil man who tried to destroy our country and replace its institutions with government controlled mechanisms that his master, Stalin would have liked. Had his ilk taken over, those of us who read this would be living in gulags and a portion of reduced rations fed to puppies so his other commie friends could say, "Oooh, look how sensitive he is."

God DOES bless America. Rot in hell, you commie bas**rd!

Of course, it is my view that Hillie murdered Wellstone to have the left wing all herself in 2008 and did it now when only a few of us would look to her, knowing that she had the motive and resources to do it.

It is impossible for a Democrat to be an honest man, and an intelligent one, at the same time. They are either stupid and Democrat, or dishonest and Democrat.

The core of the Democrat is lies, deceit and a willingness to take avantage of ignorance to gain power. No intelligent person can look at the Democrat agenda and want to go there.
Wellstone was a rock in the way of the wheels of America, as is every Liberal Democrat.

Wellstone was anti-American.

By that I mean that he was an anti-Constitutionalist. Could Wellstone have had his way, he would literally have thrown away the Constitution and turned the U.S. into a Marxist-Socialist state. The only rights that the people would have would be those Wellstone would be willing to grant to them.

Now, I am not a rabid, extremist Republican. In fact, I usually split my votes among various Libertarian, Republican, and Democratic candidates. The KEY factor in any vote I cast is how much a candidate cares about individual rights, including the 1st Amendment, 2nd Amendment, ... all of them!!

Some Democrats (e.g., Ted Kennedy) are bad for the U.S. But Wellstone was the worst!!!

I am NOT sad that he is dead.

Wellstone is dead, as dead as his Marxists ideals.
After November there will be one more obligatory slobber-fest by the wimps in the Senate and then we will never hear about him again.

Ever.

On a personal level, I was sorry he died until I saw how un-sorry his own sorry family was at the Nurenberg Rally "Memorial".

Good riddance. He has earned his Legacy. His supporters deserve to dance over his corpse. I'm just sorry the innocent pilots had to die with him. Everybody else was in collusion.

He was an avid defender of partial-birth abortion, etc. - and has now received his due: "Vengeance is mine, says the Lord".

Funny thing Hila. Reagan signed one of the nation's first laws permitting legal abortion. Maybe Wellstone saved him a seat in hell. "Vengeance is mine, says the Lord".

3. I'm no fan of Reagan.
But I don't hate him. I'm not going to sing his praises in death, but I'm not going to give him a royal ream-out either.

It just really pisses me off to see the right-wingers pick on DU'ers for the comments some DU'ers have made about Reagan, when the bile puked out by the right-wingers has been piling up for years.

Sadly, you can find even worse shit over there by searching on Rachel Corrie.

10. I didn't read that one, but I've read enough similar ones.
And I know EXACTLY what they will be saying at Carter's death, and even more so at Clinton's.

But I still can't be a grave pisser. It's a karma thing for me I guess. Or maybe we just sang 'never laugh when a hearse goes by' too many times when I was a kid.

7. Wow!
I almost forgot what complete assholes those dudes are. Fuck man, how the hell is Paul Wellstone a Marxist? Sure, he wanted government to work to benefit the people it serves. That's was his job as outlined by the constitution. Coming from Paul's home state and the only state that didn't cave in to St. Ronny on '84, I would like to announce a giant "FUCK OFF" to anyone who didn't think Paul was a descent man.

8. To be a fair comparison, we'd have to be bashing Ray-gun as a Nazi
Which I've not seen here.

11. To a freeper, the minimum wage is 'marxist'.
I was just starting to learn about Wellstone around the time of his death. To me, Wellstone epitomized what the Founding Fathers wanted a Senator to be. A grass-roots activist, willing to vote against popular opinion even if it might cost him votes, a total political novice who won a Senate seat. Even people like Trent Lott who hated his ideology respected him for his idealism and courage and honesty.

9. Thank you, DenverBill!
PLEASE consider passing those quotes on to Drudge, Rush and other members of the RW who are outraged that anyone still feels critical of St. Reagan. And I'd love to see those comments sent back to Free Republic so they can be reminded of the example that they set.

12. There are plenty of freepers reading and posting at DU.
And doubtless Rush and Drudge either read here or have one of their hacks read here. Otherwise, how would they know when someone here posts something outrageous.

13. Well...
I suspect there are still plenty of Freepers with very selective memories who don't visit DU.

14. That's VERY true.
Unfortunately, there are also an awful lot who don't know the meaning of hypocrisy.
