I recall there was an effort to put Reagan on that particular bit of coinage, but the idea seemed to betray total ignorance of the 'March of Dimes' and FDR's involvement. At least we're hearing more about the $10 and $20 bills now in connection with Reagan, although it is still a poor idea in each case--I wouldn't have a problem for his being on some seldom-used coin similar to the 50c JFK coin, but having him on our paper money is utterly out of step with our traditions in this country.
A lot of these ideas to deify Reagan seem to be more for show than for actual execution--the Ohio representative who wants him on Rushmore, for example, seems to lack any knowledge of how such a thing would be carried out, or indeed of the fragile nature of the monument itself.
