Look at all the credit J.C. Watts got just because he was the only black Republican in the House. And J.C. was at least moderate on a couple of issues.

If this guy becomes the only black Republican in the House, he will suddenly have national credibility, because he'll be the token hauled in front of the cameras every time the Republicans don't want to be seen as racist. That alone will give him a certain amount of believability and power.

and spoke to a staffer there . . .

i asked them specifically about the illegal immigrant ad (where they equated illegal immigration with a murderous crime wave) and likened the potrayal of the spanish speaking voice ad the end of the ad to the nasty stereotypes of african americans eating watermelons and how that is hurtful to people.

the staffer told me he was asian american and that he saw no problem with the characterization because it was simply someone speaking in spanish.

i asked him how a sing songy obvious jab at latinos could be construed as appropriate and then asked him what he thought about stereotypical portrayals of asians and the way they speak.

he told me thank you as if to end the call.

i told him his candidate was a sell-out uncle tom.

what would possibly possess these people?
