Actually ANOTHER talk show — he had one on Fox before it was Murdoched...and he was really good.

Ron co-hosted Press & Buchanan last year. Some excerpts:

Mr. Reagan said he knew liberals aren’t known for being great TV. "I think the bar is set higher for liberals," he said. "It’s easy to be Ann Coulter."

"I’d love to do another talk show, and I’m talking to some other people about that," he said following his Buchanan & Press appearance. "I’m still in the planning stages, and I think there’s a lot of room for this. Despite this supposed ‘liberal bias’ in the media, I can hardly find any on TV."

MSNBC might want to act fast: Mr. Reagan said he was approached by two journalists associated with an "Internet entity" who were pitching, he said, an "unabashedly" liberal show to cable networks. "We’ve had the conversations, and now we’re meeting people at various media outlets," he said, adding that the proposed show is of the time-honored sit-down variety, "with the telltale, piquant little bits like ‘The Lie of the Week’ or a ‘Right-Wing Moment’—like Tom DeLay talking about teaching children about biology: ‘We evolutized up from the mud!’ O.K., we’re in trouble as a country."

and maybe then someone can explain the Tom DeLay statement: "I am the government" after he was asked to put out his cigar in a restaurant - being told it was government law....

3. I like Ron Reagan

I wonder what his relationship with his brother michael is? Does anyone know if they were standing together at the service? I always see Ron and Patti together but not Michael. I also read somehwere that Michael is unhappy with them because they are not born again.

Someone will have to give him a show now that they've mythologized his
father all out of proportion, but he's not going to be anything like what
the Right wants him to be!

5. It would be excellent

He'd be genuinely entertaining. You need some of that. We do get so earnest that we're only preaching to the choir an awful lot. I love Air America and I think just the fact that it's getting listeners is very important in the scheme of things, but if I didn't already agree with them, I probably would never listen to it.
