I have kept the television turned off this whole week and won't

turn it back on until the Reagan thing is finished. I watched all of Iran-Contra. My tax dollars helped pay for the Savings and Loan Scandal. I know all I need to know about Reagan.

1. can't stand tv

There is no liberal perspective. I can't adulate Reagan since he threw so many seriously mentally ill patients out on the street. Do you know what you have to go through to get help for people with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder with psychosis? If it's your child, the insurance runs out quickly and then your only option is to give up custody to have the state help. That doesn't guarantee treatment, but they don't treat anymore anyway. They stabilize. And Reagan thought schizophrenia was a life-choice. .....
How could I stand people idolizing a man who had no compassion for the ill?

2. no TV for me....

unless the Cubs are on.....I don't watch the "news" on cable or

broadcast television....I get all I need right here at DU

I find that I am in a much better mood this way.

I don;t have to watch. I go garden or something. Then we come together when a baseball game comes on.
