1. Alice Rivlin
Reaganomics=cut taxes, increase spending-->good for economy; taxes don't matter

then they quote Gary Bauer, lauding supplyside economics

Gary Bauer contradicts himself over whether RR was compassionate or not, by nonsequituring into spiel about how RR thought welfare didn't work

2. they actually bring up that he started his campaign
in Philadelphia, Miss, touting states' rights, rather than mention that Scherner, King, Goodman were KILLED there!

3. This Has Possibilities....
Hi,

Maybe we will find out that he really didn't walk on water....GASP!

I almost fell over when he mentioned Reagan on Mt Rushmore.....let's not give the Reagan Wack-a-Loons any ideas.

Cheers,

4. don't hold breath...they just had Rivlin and Wilkins
say that people admired his sticking to his guns, and communicating that certainty so well

SO FUCKING WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adolph Hitler was very good at staying on message

so is the chimp

what does THAT prove?

why is THAT admirable?

cause the fricking media says it is over and over and over and over, and even seemingly intelligent people often let that meme take over their critical thinking skills

fricking propaganda 101 is all it is......get the emotional message out there; drown out the logical; do it forever, and most people will fall in line, sooner or later

specially the media HOES

5. Balanced reporting at least, too bad it's not prime time...
Edited on Wed Jun-09-04 11:03 PM by linazelle
One commentator:

Reganomics means promoting selfishness and individualism instead of responsibility....

One man recalled his parents talking about "the boom time of the '80's for 'some' Americans not all of them..."

An AIDS activist:

"Mr. Reagan did not say the word AIDs for the first seven years ofhis administration...Mr. Reagan was deliberately silent for most of his years."

Says one commentator:

He had a few simple ideas, "strength in the military", "cut taxes" and I think people admired that strength even though they didn't agree with him.

Sounds like the picture they TRY to paint of Bush re: war and taxes. :eyes:

6. good job getting those in........I was typing other stuff
now they're quoting CFR shill Les Gelb talking admiringly about how adaptable he was on foreign policy

DUH!!!!! he was a fricking PUPPET, who didn't know what he was talking about

really sucking up to him now

evil empire quote....blah blah blah

they're really oversimplifying things now, talking about ramping up military budget.

wonder if they'll talk about Team B, and the ridiculous, purposeful overestimating USSR's military/economic strenght

so far, no

13. it's over......it's allllllll over....one of the WORST Nightlines I've
ever seen, and that's saying something

not ONE mention of Iran/Contra (did I miss while typing?)

not ONE mention of the TRIPLING of the national debt, his RAISING taxes like six times after the initial tax cut

the fact that the economy grew at the SLOWEST PACE since WWII was over

the fact that real wages during the 80s did NOT increase ONE BIT

stuff like that

good job, Ted

now RETIRE, and find a journalist to take your spot
