Poll question: What denomination should Reagan appear on? (bill)
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 10:14 AM by cmayer
First, understand that Reagan will appear on some denomination of currency. The only question is, which one?

Since only 10 choices are allowed, there will be two seperate polls, one for coin, one for bills.

Vote in one or the other, unless you think he should be on both a coin and a bill.

On edit: Here is the link for coin.

6. I think a $3 bill carries a connotation that does not honor RR.
My choice is the $10,000 bill. Since he was the greatest President, he should have the largest denomination.

Although they did make a $100,000 bill once. But that was a gold reserve note. May not be prudent.

20. I assume you are refering to his condition prior to death
I'll say again. Making reference to an Alzheimer patient's non existent brain is appalling. I can only hope that you are heavily scorned upon your own death, and I hope all who love you hear about it.

2. The $10,000. bill seems most appropriate...
Only those whose interests were served by raygun will likely ever have to look at it.

4. I say we need a new bill for Rappin' Ronnie Reagan.
Friends, I suggest that, appropriate to Reagan's legacy, the United States should unveil the Reagan Deficit Dollar. Value: -$1.

When you give someone a Reagan Deficit Dollar, it means you've taken a dollar from them. When you owe someone five Reagan Deficit Dollars, it means they owe you five dollars.

There are plenty more people more worthy of honor on our currency than Reagan.

And a lot of Democrats will follow suit, in the interest of not looking like bastards.

NPR is discussing this as I write. I don't think bumping Salmon Chase of the $10,000 bill is anything to be ashamed of.

11. The Yen. Ronnie did more for
the Japanese economy than he did for us.

Why do you think he went to Japan to collect his pay off? Within days of leaving office he travelled to Japan, spoke before a business group and collected a $2 million check.
That came out to $250 thousand per year. I didn't think a Republican would sell out his country for less than $500 thousand a year.

12. $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 are the only ones currently printed.
http://www.ustreas.gov/education/faq/currency/denominations.html

United States currency notes now in production bear the following portraits: George Washington on the $1 bill, Thomas Jefferson on the $2 bill, Abraham Lincoln on the $5 bill, Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill, Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill, Ulysses S. Grant on the $50 bill, and Benjamin Franklin on the $100 bill.

There are also several denominations of currency notes that are no longer produced. These include the $500 bill with the portrait of William McKinley, the $1,000 bill with a portrait of Grover Cleveland, the $5,000 bill with a portrait of James Madison, the $10,000 bill with a portrait of Salmon P. Chase, and the $100,000 currency note bearing a portrait of Woodrow Wilson.

I guess I'd cut a deal. Replace Grant with Reagan and remove "In God We Trust" ... since they obviously worship St. Ronnie abu Bonzo.

Put him on the $1,000,000 bill -- that way only Reagan's closest friends and supporters would use it.

23. Why not a -$1,000,000,000 bill?
It would be the best way to symbolize the deficit he ran up. And, just like his economic policies, it too would be worthless.

Let's keep coins and bills in the same place.

If I had thought of it, I would have included the -$1 bill. And as someone else said, printed in red.
