Robin Williams Peace Plan
Did anyone else receive this email? I can't see Robin Williams taking this stance.

THE ROBIN WILLIAMS PEACE PLAN

This may very well be the best thought out item we have read since 9/11/01.
Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan ... what we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.

I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan.

1. The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo, Noriega, Milosovich and the rest of those good ol' boys: We will never "interfere" again.

2. We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one sneaking through holes in the fence.

3. All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are. France would welcome them.

4. All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist nation would be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5. No "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" (for "deport") and it's back home baby.

6. The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

7. Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go some place else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8. If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides, most of what we give them is stolen or given to the Army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9. Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10. All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer. The language we speak is ENGLISH.....learn it...or LEAVE...

Now, ain't that a winner of a plan.
The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying "Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses." She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, "You want a piece of me?"

If you agree with the above forward it to friends.

1. Robin Williams didn't write this,
although the Statue of Liberty quote at the end is his.

Just like that phoney-baloney "George Carlin 9/11" email.

4. False (no surprise)
Con's always have to link their idiotic manifestos (sp?) to a famous name- Williams, Carlin, Kermit the Frog, whoever... even THEY know that it would otherwise be discarded as the garbage it is.

The Statue of Liberty/baseball bat part was his, tho.

8. Thankyou all!
I went to high school in Ohio. I did not attend my significant reunion because of crap like this. About 3 weeks ago, I got the one about social security and how the DEMs take advantage and we're a bunch of bleeding hearts.

When I get those, I always send back some REAL news with links, etc. In the ss case, I sent back the abuse scandal and I got hate mail in return. For this one, I will send back "The Explosion of the 9-11 Truth Movement" from yesterday's post.

9. I like it!
I'm tired of having to tow the line with the rest of the democratic party. We are hard working people. Why should we have to spend our tax dollars to protect all of these other countries and people. They don't even want us there. I don't agree with the war in Iraq, and I don't agree with the war on Terror. But I disagree for different reasons than many of the people on this site. I'm tired of our money and soldiers being taken away.

I don't care if Robin Williams, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Hoffa, or Santa Clause said this. It makes sense. Impossible to do?... maybe. But it makes sense. There is no reason that we should keep putting up with the rest of the world's crap. THEY DO NOT LIKE US! Fine. Bye. Now what? They would be begging us to come back in a matter of months.

I especially like number seven about offering Saudi Arabia ten bucks for a barrel. Why not? They need us. We don't NEED them. We can get it elsewhere.

Maybe, I'm just horribly naive, but why should people living and working in America learn our language, why do we have to help people when a natural disaster strikes, why should we spend billions of dollars helping countries that don't like us? We are in dire financial straits, wouldn't cutting out all these little "programs" lift that burden, and provide the American people with a surplus to spend on improving road, paying police officers better, improving the public education system, etc.

Just a thought... I'm new... be gentle.

10. Um - there's more of them than there are of us
AND - they own 37% of our national debt. What if they called it in?

14. More of them?
There are more Muslims than Americans. There are more Chinese than Americans. The ability to defend ourselves does not depend on quantity. As the saying goes, I'd rather of quality of quantity.

Okay, so take some of the saved money, and put it into fortifying our land. Make sure that we have the ability to defend ourselves if every other person in the world decided to attach us at the same time.

About the 37% of our national debt... we attempt to work out a payment plan to have all debt paid off in ten years. We use the money EARNED by cutting foreign programs (Remember a penny saved is a penny earned) and pay off as much debt as possible. If they don't want to wait ten years for their money. Sorry. We gave you the opportunity. Now you get nothing.

That about covers those holes. Are there more?

15. Did you forget that 19 terrorists killed 3,000 of us?
we cannot defend ourselves in this day and age with weapons alone. Evaluate the mess in Iraq - if you can.

16. That's the point
All of our resources were aimed elsewhere. Put all "defense spending" into making sure that not one can ever get to us again.

And I don't want to evaluate the mess in Iraq. I want them to completely pull out of Iraq, yesterday.

We can stop terrorists from killing us on our own soil with enough "weapons". I guess when you use the word you are referring to guns and tanks. I am referring to anti-terrorist measures, walls, and fences and constant surveillance of our airspace- every square inch of airspace at all times. All that including the guns and tanks. Yes, walls. Huge walls bigger than the great wall of china, running east and west along our border from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean and from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean.

18. You're about fifteen years old, aren't you?
Nothing else could explain your breath-taking ignorance of global politics and finance. If you'd bother to do a little research, you find that U.S. economic assistance (that's separate from military assitance that we provide to our allies) totaled some $17 billion in the last Bush Budget. Thirty-seven percent of the current budget deficit comes to about $2.5 trillion. So it would take something on the order of 150 years to "pay off" the the foreign-owned portion of the national debt under your brilliant plan.

22. IF we offer $10 per barrel for oil
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 11:15 AM by fiziwig
They'll just sell it to China, India, Japan and all the other countries that are waiting in line for more oil. The net result would be that we get no oil from them.

Not very bright.

19. Rightwing message disguised as liberal hip comedian's ideas
Isolationism, xenophobia, anti-immigrant, protectionist, hardline anti-UN, humanitarian aid, English only pinheaded freaking freeper talk.

My guess this was written by Bill O'Reilly. It has his style characteristics, especially the rancor against foreigners and undocumented illegals, as well as the subtle jab at France.

And to put Robin Williams' name to it. Really. How insulting. Robin Williams who has done endless telethons to raise money for the homeless. Robin Williams who castrated Bush in his last HBO comedy special. Robin Williams whose natural wit leaves a person doubled over with laughter. He has never been this unfunny at a stretch in his life!

Sheesh. Someone must think we are morans!

Doesn't it bother anyone that rightwingers are willing to pull this sort of orwellian crap? Can you imagine anyone at DU writing a letter in Nancy Reagan's name repudiating conservatism while invoking Reagan's name? Certainly many at DU would be pleased if she did so, but I doubt if any of us would chortle at our cleverness if we fraudulently misrepresented her actual position by making crap up about her in hopes of tricking people. A public figure should be judged by his or her real actions not by lies someone else has spread about them.

The constant mindnumbing rightwing manipulation of the truth is the real and present danger our country faces. Terrorism from within.

20. ANOTHER lying Bushevik MISATTRIBUTED Blast e-mail
Monsters. I know that is a harsh term for people who haven;t skinned anyone alive or anything, but the point is that THEY WOULD if they thought they could get away with it, Mississippi 1940s-style.

Oh my yes, the people who fabricate these e-mails for their Bushevik Masters would happily do it then.

be ready, because Imperial Amerika might yet revert to "Mississippi 1940s" Law Enforcement with all of us as the (RACIAL EPITHET REDACTED).
