Markets Closed on Friday...Follow up |

The markets have closed for the funeral of evey 20th century president, with the exception of one. Ask this question to anybody and 80% of the time the response will be Nixon. Not true.The correct answer is Herbert Hoover. The sitting president during the October 1929 crash. The markets only closed two hours early for his.

It makes perfect sense to close the Stock Exchange for Reagan's burial.
After all, it was impossible for the markets to rise when he was Presiedent, so why not make it impossible for them to rise during his funreal too?

no reason...sorry, the only other national funeral that I can remember is JFK...remember Oswald getting shot?
