The congregation was finalizing plans for Saturday's "Let's Roll" Thunder Rolling to Crawford, a mobile demonstration aimed at thwarting the possible closure of the Waco Veterans Affairs Hospital.
"We are hoping to have the world on motorcycles, only because it has the spirit of freedom and it makes a lot of noise," said Bill Mahon, McLennan County Veterans Association chairman. "The whole idea is that we're rolling. We're taking the freedom of country along with the county's stability (represented by the motorcycle and vehicle procession)."

The veterans association's judge advocate, Manuel Sustaita, said he is expecting at least a thousand veterans to participate.

The protestors avoided a permit requirement because the procession will make no stops, Sustaita said.
