Bush holding hands--what to make of these photos?
Yahoo has several photos up of Bush clutching the hand of President Obasanjo of Nigeria. It just looks so strange to see him holding hands with another world leader.

...it's hard to walk a straight line. President Obasanjo is only doing what any good friend would do in that situation.

7. He has ALWAYS contrived...
...to have his picture taken cozying up to black people. ALWAYS!!! The very first photo I ever saw of Bush was of him kissing a little black girl ON THE LIPS. It was so creepy.

9. My guess is that Obasanjo took the initiative
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 01:56 PM by psychopomp
Dumbya was probably looking particularly vulnerable and confused and Obasanjo thought it best to shore him up and thus curry favor and offer support at the same time.

Looks like it was a sunny day. All that bright light must have dazzled and bewildered the twit's beady eyes. I just see the Nigerian President walking over and taking little Georgie by the hand and helping him walk it off...

on edit: the Navy *is* holding massive, high-profile military excercises off the West African coast, so this public display is probably in Obasanjo's best interest at this point.

12. Except that...
In the first photo at least it seems to be Bush clutching Obasanjo's hand with Obasanjo looking like he'd really rather not. Perhaps Obasanjo offered Bushie a hand and found it clamped in a death grip?

man, Bush the whole tie bush is
1 - trying not offend the guy by being weird about holding the guy's hand
2 - trying to at the same time be macho and totally "not gay"
3 - feeling confused about the way it's making him feel.

15. cultural difference
Men in some parts of the world hold hands as a sign of friendship. I actually think the funnier picture is the one just posted where he is squirming. He's actually showing a little class in these pics.

24. I don't know
it could be a cultural thing. In India, for instance, adult friends (both male and female) hold hands.

29. Men in Nigeria hold hands--also in other African countries---
The men. . . . . . in Nigeria are different from most of us here in U.S. For instance, heterosexual males hold hands.
