4. I don't know for sure, but banks usually abide by the Fed dictate. |
|
I'd bet they're closed too.
I don't like the "National day of mourning any more than you do, but I still remember the JFK assasination and I think we had the Feds closed then too.
Let the Pubs have their day, and maybe they;ll shut up for a while.

5. How about for Eisenhower, Johnson and Truman? Or Nixon? |
|
Those are the standards I'd gauge by. Kennedy's assassination was a trauma in a way the others were not. He was taken--violently--in the middle of his term. The nation needed to absorb that in a way it didn't need to with the deaths from old age of the others.
I still don't know if this is protocol, even after reading a NY Times article allegedly about "Precedent."

7. Giving the republinazis what they want ... |

... never shuts them up. Like the spoiled children that they act like, they always want more.

9. Chicago Tribune says some banks here will be open... |
|
...but that means others will be closed. State, city and county offices here are open, even though Gov. Blagoevich yesterday admitted he voted twice for Ray-goon.
