Subject: Fox speculates: Cheney > CIA; Rudy > Veep

http://www.newsdissector.org/weblog/index.cfm

Fox News this morning reported uncritically on speculation that Dick Cheney may be replaced on the Republican ticket by "America's Mayor" Rudy Giuliani, a move they saw as perfect as an attention getting device in the upcoming speculation. Their related rumor is that Cheney will go to the CIA to replace George Tenet.

murder, Nazi-style, of Political Enemies.

The Final Cloak will begin to fall, although that will happen no matter what if Bunnypants* retains the power he seized.

5. Oh yeah. Like the CIA will have him.
In that case, I'd expect, any moves within the CIA to hang these people, as speculated by Mike Ruppert in From the Wilderness, would only put their feet down harder on the gas pedal.

The CIA will NOT accept that dick as their chief. He's instrumental in their biggest headaches.

Let the games begin.

People are unhappy with Bush and Cheney and I would hope that moderates leaning Democratic would not be swayed by the addition of Guiliani to the ticket.

7. Isn't Giuliani a Democrat
Giuliani would fit in perfectly. Since 911 he' been raking in the money. He & half the brass in the police dept of NY started a consulting firm on terrorism. Making fortunes. This would put him in the catbird seat.

It'd split the conservatives or discourage some of them from voting. It would make for a VERY sleepless night before the election for many of them.

had a nasty public divorce and then supposedly performed so fantastically after 9-11 and even hinted that he shouldn't step down as mayor?
THAT Rudy?
Bring it on!
The first question the opposition should ask is: So, are you and George still the FAMILY VALUES sanctity of marriage party?

If so, why did you cheat on your wife and divorce her?

Why wasn't your EMS department better equipped to respond to 9-11?
It has been alleged that if they had the equipment they needed, fewer personnel would have lost their lives.

So, tell us again, you are against Gay marriage because it is an insult to the sanctity of marriage, right?

Aside from being pro-choice, the American people are not stupid and will see through the subliminal message of someone held in high esteem for his handling of 9/11 joining with Bush. If they did this, they might as well plan the good-bye festivities.

31. why is it stupid?
Powell, the lone moderate in the current WH, has almost no influence now. His sole purpose was the use his credibility to brief the UN about Iraq's WMD.

If Powell resigns post-election, as many have speculated, Rudy would be the new ignored moderate face on the White House. They trot him out to give speeches on a tough issue or two where Rudy would have more credibility (no, cutting all these funds for Police or the Military won't screw our veterans...)

I think it spells BIG BIG Trouble.

44. disagree
The RepubliCONs will do what they can to keep power. The Religious Right sees this as a long term struggle and would accept Rudy over a Kerry Administration any day of the week. While some may stay home or vote for Roy Moore, if he runs, it will be counterbalanced by getting back votes from the Log Cabin Republicans and moderates.

If that is the woman Rudy had an affair with (god, is she ugly!), most won't care... Clinton's highest approval ratings were during the impeachment.

Although I'd love to see St. Rudy on the ticket self-destructing.

People don't remember what he was like before he was annointed "America's Mayor". He was rude, peevish and belligerent to the New York press. Imagine how he'd spin out of control under the pressure of being on the ticket? Just one good 'fuck-you'-ish sound bite and the Republicans will be eating dirt until November.

49. Yes, easily. The DCI serves at the pleasure of the president
Example: George the Smarter was installed as DCI by President Ford. His mission was to reform the post-Nixon CIA.

One of President Carter's first acts was to fire George the Smarter for failing to reform the CIA.

Which is what makes the "George Bush Center for Intelligence" so fucking hilarious: they named CIA Headquarters after someone who was relieved for cause.

My first act as president will be to rename CIA Headquarters after someone who didn't get fired from his position. Perhaps Sidney Souers, the first DCI.

51. Agreed
One of the hallmarks of authoritarians is their utter hypocrisy. If the Groping Gangbanger Schwarzenegger can be anointed by the far right establishment to successfully complete their coup in CA, the adulterous Giuliani is a shoo-in for VP.

Given that most of His Chimperial Highnesses troubles --i.e. getting "caught" as the criminal he always has been -- seem to be emanating from the CIA, it would be a brilliant move to install Darth Cheney there to *try* to squash it. Who knows -- many they think they can pull off in the intelligence community what they were able to accomplish in the Pentagon, namely the dismissal of critical experienced career professionals who protest one's policies and the installation of incompetent Yes Men.

Sure, they may try this. They're capable ot anything to hold onto and magnify their terrifying power.
