Transcript of Junior's Reagan eulogy on Fox
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,122465,00.html

As an actor he was the handsome all-American good guy, which in his case required knowing his lines and being himself.

Along the way certain convictions were formed and fixed in twe should strive to know and do the will of God. He believed that the gentleman always does the kindest thing. He believed that people were basically good and had the right to be free. He believed that bigotry and prejudice were the worst things a person could be guilty of. He believed in the golden rule and in the power of prayer. He believed that America was not just a place in the world, but the hope of the world.

And he believed in taking a break now and then, because, as we said, there's nothing better for the inside of a man than the outside of a horse.

1. Bush* has the vacation part down pat. But he is afraid of
horses. I guess he could reverse the statement:
there's nothing better for the outside of a man than the inside of a horse (horse steaks, anybody?)

2. That's his "barnacle fastened to the hull" ploy...
I don't know how much of Ronald Reagan the man was "real" versus how much was "imagined." But Bush (actually Karl Rove and Karen Hughes, since Bush has no mind of his own) is attempting to act like a heatseeker on the Reagan legacy. Find the aspects that resonate with the voting public. Find the aspects that middle America considers to be "genuinely American." Praise those qualities to such a high and repetitive level that the public begins to feel that not only do you RESPECT the qualities, you also HAVE them. Give the people what they seem to want right now...but may not want by November...a "Surrogate Gipper." Work the campaign while middle America is flooding Amazon with requests for "Dutch" Reagan books, movies, anything with his face on it. CNET's featured download today? A Reagan Memorial Screensaver. WORK that campaign, Dubya...the window of opportunity is wide open. Don't be ashamed of crawling through it...we all know that you're NOT.

It is so sad that a man who is afraid to get on the back of a horse and ride it across his OWN pig farm is getting all misty over a "real" (see above) cowboy. Sad, and pretty sickening as well.
