Simpsons brand new episode about the Pubs naming everything after RWR

4. It wasn't a new episode

It was from season 14.

Probably one of the most politically charged Simpsons ever. Krusty the Clown runs for Congress as a republican. In a meeting of republicans, they go around saying everything theyre gonna name after him (this was before his death mind you), very funny to look back upon, I can't remember most of them though.

The funniest part was they showed "news reports" from Faux News, and in the scrolling news wire had headlines like:

Study:Democrats cause cancer

82% of Democrats are gay

Hillary Clinton likes to club baby seals

Definately one of the funnier episodes I have seen.

5. After that episode, Fux declaired that Simpsons could not ever again...

...simulate a news crawl.

... or do they buy it from another production company. I always thought the ability to switch networks would give The Simpsons a lot of indpendence from Rupert Murdoch.

It's the episode where Krusty runs for Congress. The thugs didn't wait for Reagan to die before renaming the Earth Reagantopia.

7. It's official: I stand corrected on two counts - sorry, my bad!

I was trying to get this posted so fast that I got the network wrong (WB) and didn't realize it was old. I almost never watch that show but happened to tune it in. And right after I posted I had a feeling it may have been made a few months ago when that repub in congress was pushing for replacing FDR with RWR on the dime. DDDUUUHHHH!

How could it be this coincidental, though, that WB would be running this one? Since there was all that talk this week about naming everything Reagan, it seemed to make it OK to show an episode that mentions it, even though he just died. Maybe WB has a sense of humor & mischief, and anyway it wasn't so much lampooning Reagan as it was the repubs. Wish I'd videotaped that one!
