3. it's REALLY, REALLY good
even better than how folks have made it sound here.

you'd've had to have seen AND heard his tone and body language along with it.

it was heartfelt.

and it was damning.

i believe koppel has some liberal (smart) producers working for him who isolated that sound bite.

5. The setup was clips of each of the Reagan kids speaking
Michael first, then Patty, then Ron Jr. The interesting thing to me is that the Ron clip was ONLY the religion remarks.

Koppel did not make any direct comment afterward.

7. it was what in tv is called
a nat package, or natural sound package...

we've been seeing a lot of these this week.

basically just stringing together strong sound bites and other natural sound... it's a highly editorial call, and that they chose THAT sound bite from ron out of his entire eulogy is telling.

8. Hope he endorses Kerry
I have no doubt he will vote for Kerry, after having heard some of his interviews about Bush Jr.

Now that I have heard the religion comment - it is a responsibility, not a mandate - I am thinking that Ron Jr. will just come out and publicly endorse Kerry. He already used the bully pulpit of his father's funeral to get his point across. I think he is going to do it. YES!!!!

9. I did watch the speeches at the gravesite
just to see what the kids would say. I avoided the rest of it since I was out all day. I love how outspoken Ron was, and is. Impressive and honest.
