Unwittingly, one of Reagan's eulogizers revealed Bush's phoniness

When Brian Mulroney in his eulogy told the anecdote about he and Reagan watching their beautiful wives approaching and Reagan saying, "Brian, we're two old Irishmen who married above ourselves", he revealed something about Bush.....George W. Bush has been using that line as his own, over and over....He's been saying it on many occasions when he has made speeches.....Just at the moment Mulroney said it today, the camera was on the Bush family....Everyone in the church laughed about it except George Junior and Senior....They both had looks on their faces that said they had been found out.. They know that George, who has been trying desperately to equate himself with Reagan, won't be able to use Reagan's line any more.....I thought it was hilarious!...:D
P.S....What makes it even sweeter to me is that Mulroney, our former Prime Minister did this without realizing he was hurting Bush....He is such a sickening suck-up for the Reagans and Bushes that he would never say it knowingly.....

I want to believe it is below Ron Jr. to attack someone at his father's funeral.

Having buried a parent already, I can say that it would take a callousness I cannot imagine to intentionally try to attack someone at the funeral.

7. Ron Jr.'s implication was clear.

He had the guts to stand there in front of his father's Republican friends and say that his father never used religion for political gain. The way he said it was crystal clear. Nobody missed it.

12. Too subtle for an attack

You have to watch the speech. They just reran it in its entirety on the BBC News on PBS here in Charlotte.

He talks about his father's deep faith and says that his father felt that God saved him from his gunshot wounds to do good for the country, but that his father felt that this was a responsibility not a mandate...and there is a difference.

So he builds up his father and praises him for knowing the difference between religion which teaches responsibility and religion that seeks political favor. If anyone is personally offended by that statement, well, then maybe they should take a long hard look at themselves because Ron did not say anything about anyone but his father.

He spoke the truth.

Having buried a parent already, you would also probably realize that (a) what Ron Jr. said wasn't about his dead father, and (b) his dead father would want him to speak the truth.

5. Clearing brush on the ranch

has always been a way to show the sheeple that he is just like Ron. Does anyone really believe a slacker like Bush, who could afford to hire a neighbor's kid, would clear brush? Pleeeeeze. Bush would just set fire to it first. He's a phony who's been using Reagan's apron strings from day one.
