President plans to visit, give speech to military ..........Florida

Details of the visit were still being worked out Friday, but the tentative plan called for Bush to give the speech at MacDill Air Force Base, home of Central Command. He is expected to talk about the war on terror.

It's likely that the public will not be invited - the audience will be limited to CentCom personnel.



The state remains a key battleground in the presidential campaign, but the trip is being arranged and paid for by the White House because it is not considered a political event.

appear outside controlled military or handpicked audiences? I can't recall a single time.
