Do we have DU Folks from ALL the OTHER CITIES? Whore Media Not Reporting!
Edited on Thu Aug-14-03 05:23 PM by KoKo01
From Detroit to Canada......from Upstate NY to NJ to Conn.....where is the coverage from Whore Media?

What if we had a massive TERRORIST ATTACK?

I thought we gave up all our freedoms to Patriot Act and Homeland Security so that we could COODINATE OUR EFFORTS! This is MAJOR........and we aren't hearing from all the other folks out there......and not just NYC!

Help.....what's going on in Cleveland and Detroit and with our Canada folks who can't even get online because they are SHUT OFF! Whore Media has access.....but where are they? Surely someone has has "back up" generators that our Magnificent New Folks can access News Rooms from ALL these CITIES!

Where are the reports.........Why?

How could we survive a MAJOR TERRORIST ATTACK with this PRIMITIVE Communicat ions????????

1. TERRORIST-as in bomb -NO, but via computer?
Edited on Thu Aug-14-03 06:28 PM by papau
3 weeks ago power companies noticed they were connected to the internet and adopted security rules - rules that have not yet been put in place.

Plus office to field commands are often sent out, and replied to, via clear channel radio - so all those auto gizmos that are controlled by these radio commands could have been hit by HACKER TERRORISTS!~

But we know of no bomb - so TV says no terrorists!

guess it is like non-combat death in Iraq from friendly fire - now we have non-terrorist power loss from evil person

2. The power in Michigan is out as far west as Lansing.
Well, technically, it's Grand Ledge, 10 miles west of Lansing, but the entire city of Lansing is without power. Consumers Energy immediately removed themselves from the grid, saving the west side of the state from the blackout. They have already issued a statement, according to local media, saying they will not return to the grid until all poer is restored to the rest of the state. Most of the local radio and tv stations lost power, but the local tv stations are equipped with emergency backup generators, so they're back up - broadcasting from outside.
Grand Rapids had regular programming.

4. I know---I think the coverage is rediculous
I'm in seattle, and it's the lead on all the local news stations.

It's been on straight on CNN, FOX, MSNBC, CNBC---I told my husband "it's not like NYC is on fire or anything"---and I was sitting here just a minute ago and I'm like "aren't other cities affected too"

why aren't they showing detroit? cleveland??

This is just sick---seriously. Our country has a mental illness and a perverse fascination with 'tragedy'----and I'm not making light of this (ha ha. bad joke, i know) but it's a power outage. Yes, it's bad. But, it's affecting other cities. Show things OTHER than NYC--- I'm not even sure why they've had continuous coverage---are they trying to beat each other to be the 'first' to report when the lights go back on?

I'm shutting off this TV. I cannot believe people are getting sweatty-palmed about a power outage.

Ugh! This is perverse

5. Maybe because it's also in the middle of a heatwave.
It was 90 here in Mi. today. Think France - 3000 dead. Maybe they're waitng for the people to start dropping.
