Right's new journalist poster-boy
Search www.google.com and news.google.com with "Stephen Hayes" and "Al-Zarqawi" and you'll find that a book called "The Connection" by a guy named "Stephen Hayes" who wrote for the Wall Street Journal and who now writes for the Weekly Standard is championed among columnists nationwide for nailing the alleged link between Saddam and Al-Qaeda that even Dick Cheney was forced to disown.

So what's the deal with this guy? As reliable as David Brock and William Safire?

Doncha just love this bit:
"nailing the alleged link between Saddam and Al-Qaeda that even Dick Cheney was forced to disown."

IMHO, if he'd "nailed" it so damn well, then Cheney wouldn't have dis-fucking-owned it. I've read one of Hayes' articles, and it was nothing more than an extended apologetic for the Feith report. Google "Feith memo" and see why even the cyborg wouldn't touch it in the end. Hayes grabbed Feith's pile of cherry-picked raw intelligence and cherry-picked it again for the ones that supported the conclusion he'd already decided to promote. Nothing interesting or original about it.

4. Someone, a neocon at the pentagon is being investigated
for leaking a whole bunch of classified bs to Hayes that he has now made into a book. I'm guessing it's Feith.
