"Lets face it... is anyone excited about electing John Kerry?"
Edited on Sat Jun-12-04 11:56 PM by quinnox
Found this at free republic, supposedly this was said by John Kerry's campaign co-chairman, the depth of lies some of these freeps will go to just to try and make Kerry look bad...

Things not to say in public

This evening, Los Angeles City Councilman Antonio Villaraigosa spoke at a meeting of the California League of Conservation Voters. One member of the audience asked him if he planned on running for Mayor. He mentioned the recent "push poll" on the race, noting that Mayor Hahn (like Kerry) was everybody's second choice...then he continued saying that running against an incumbent was difficult, unless it was an unpopular incumbent. Then he said this gem to applause:

"After all, let's face it. Is anyone excited about electing John Kerry or do you really want to defeat George Bush?"

That's a real vote of confidence from John Kerry's Campaign Co-Chairman. Reporters from the Los Angeles Times and Washington Post were acknowledged for their attendance...so I totally expect them to be reporting this.

Edit: This is not meant as a slam against Kerry, I think the story is a total lie and am amazed at how the freepers can create stories to nourish their dislike of Kerry.

7. Ummm...FR
is not really a realiable source for anything. I'll vote for Kerry in November though I'm not gung-ho for Kerry as yet. My guy was Dean. But still, I'm feeling better about Kerry and his ability to appeal to moderates as the better alternative to Bush. :)

If Kerry was 'everyone's' second choice: who was 'everyone's' FIRST choice ????

9. No matter how Kerry wins

It won't matter.

Even if Senator Kerry wins because this nation thinks Bush is an incompetent fraud what does it matter?

Kerry would have 4 years to put his vision into place and based on that vision and his accomplishments alone will the American people decide whether or not he should return.

I have always maintained it doesn't matter HOW you get to the White House, ONLY IF you get there.

10. Kerry will be a MAJOR step up from the cretin currently squatting in...
...in the People's House. And he will also surround himself with strong CAPABLE people that will put the welfare of the people before the welfare of the almighty corporation.

12. I'm pretty excited about electing John Kerry. Just because ousting the
awful shrub is the most important part of electing JK doesn't make me any less excited about it. I think JK will be a good president too.

13. I cannot get excited.
I will cast my vote for Kerry because I have no real choice. Kerry has got to start going back to his rhetoric and momentum he used in the primaries. Stop softening up. He needs to start getting tough and scrap with Bush. So far he has not motivated me.

16. Senator Kerry is a good man...
...and I'm voting for him, so don't take this wrong. But at this point I'd vote for my kitty cat if he were the Democratic nominee. Crawford needs it's village idiot back - and we need our country back.

22. Me and Charley both dissapointed in Kerry!
I'm disappointed in Kerry. He is making the mistake intellectuals often make. He thinks he can win with laborious explanations of the nuances of differences he has with Bush not over policy, but over the implementation of that policy. Somebody in his campaign had better tell him quick that the American voting population is not into nuances. They want a choice between bourbon and scotch, not a choice between brands of scotch.

23. there's been a lot of discussion today.....
about dragging crap here from free republic. obviously, we all have the capability of going there if we so choose, but i think the concensus here is that free republic is not a credible source of news or even interest to most of us. i guess i'm at a loss for the fascination with f.r. these last few days have seen the front page of d.u. virtually littered with countless f.r. threads.

and as far as excitement about the presumptive democratic nominee; HELL YEAH, I'M EXCITED!
