Army unveils it's new stormtrooper look:

On Monday, June 14, 2004, the Army unveiled a redesigned combat uniform with a digital camouflage pattern that looks strikingly different from soldiers' current battle dress uniforms. It marks the first major change in the Army uniform since 1981, and new recruits be issued the redesigned uniform starting in October 2005 and the entire Army will be outfitted by December 2007. 1. Primarily grey - to blend in with the urban, concrete jungle
After the next "terrorist" attack in the U.S. and martial law is declared, you'll be seeing these new uniforms on the streets of cities coast to coast.

Actually, you won't see them on the streets because they are urban camouflage. :^)

12. Actually, REAL Urban Camouflage is
raggedy clothing, long hair and greasy beard. The *very* best way to blend in and be *completely* invisible is to look like a homeless bum! Nobody "sees" bums any more other than to shudder and step around them!

Friend of mine is an undercover cop. He dons a greasy windbreaker over a stained gray shirt, faded trousers, ancient sneakers, rubs a bit of dirt on his face and hands and a tiny bit of Vaseline into his hair (to stick it together) and *poof* he's "no longer there" in terms of noticeability.

19. Very astute
With all the peak oil websites going on about martial law and choosing draft or suffering at home and all, it makes sense that the new outfits would blend in with domestic surroundings, rather than jungle green or sand beige... :scared:

2. Cue Star Wars Theme...
Imperial Amerika takes on the personality of it's rulers.

And it is only fitting that Imperial Sturtruppen should be outfitted differently than soldiers of the Old American Republic.

I like it. Sturmtruppen SHOULD look like Sturmtruppen.

9. Quibble
I am going to ask you not to call our soldiers "stormtroopers". They are young men and women who are serving their country for a variety of reasons, and have been put in harm's way by a douche-bag. That is not their fault.

11. I'm sure that will be a huge comfort to the inmates at Abu Ghraib.

13. Oh, so ALL our soldiers should be demonized?
When did I try to comfort the inmates who have been abused? Did you hear me suggest that those things were unimportant? No, you didn't. The people involved in those incidents will hopefully be held accountable for them.

Are you working under the impression that our soldiers deserve to be called "stormtroopers" regardless of their involvement in actions such as those at Abu Ghraib?

Being a soldier is a shitty enough job with W running the show. Why take out your anger at the people who are really bearing the cost of his idiocy?

14. Agreed,
I was refering to the uniform, not the soldier wearing it.

I am sure you didn't mean direct it towards the men and women. Thanks.

I wonder where it's being made. China or Thailand? They could at least create some jobs with it.
