2. A guy down the street from us flew his flag upside down the entire time
Clinton was in office. No one did anything about it!

3. Protect and serve my ass
God forbid police officers be trained in the Constitution they are enforcing.

4. Was there anything in the Star on this?
How about something about the 9-year-old girl who was recently tasered by Tucson police?

5. I agree this sucks and is nothing but politically motivated harrassment

But do you think it helps anything to call the police "pigs" as the article does?

I've been hassled at protests by police, and I've had them treat us (protestors) with the utmost professionalism. I've also needed the police on two occasions (when a fight was occuring in the street in front of my house and someone was breaking into my car), and they were great.

They're not all the same. Most of the police have your safety first and foremost in mind and are willing to put their lives at risk for the public. "Pigs" seems a really 60's kind of epithet, doesn't it?

On edit--I wonder how closely this protest organization has worked with the police? We always try to keep law enforcement apprised of where, when, and how many when an event is planned. Maybe they should try talking to some folks in positions of authority to get their message across that they oppose the federal government but don't endorse anarchy or lawlessness.

10. As a New Yorker, I find "pigs" particularly painful.
These officers are abusing an important office. They keep the peace. They make it possible to walk home alone at night. Their vigilance enables us to sleep with both eyes closed.

And, when it counts, they die protecting us. I haven't begun to forget.

These cops have forgotten their mission. They need to be reminded. But "pigs" doesn't do it. Detailing their egregious acts does.

13. Thank YOU!
In theory...Police are neutrals, they often are.

I work very closely with police as an elected person, and several from that department are friends.

7. Did you get the memo, the republicans own the flag! Thats what
I fought for, their right to the flag. I think I will have to get a flag and fly it upside down. Right next to a display of all my military awards. When the flag police come to haul me off, I will then have to smack them over the head with my display case, its pretty heavy!

8. Time for some Abbie Hoffman shirts !!!!

This time, stars down!!!!!!

The police were pretty dumb in this instance. They validated the flag being flown upside down.
