Aaron Brown was just interviewing a guy.(missed his name) and he said they would start the investigation right away..

..unlike the investigation of an "event" that killed 3000 people and decimated a large part of the downtown.. THAT event, was no reason to get busy with an investigation..


BUT then, you only really need an investigation if you don't already KNOW what happened and why...

It's called distributed generation or DG. Small neighborhood and residential sized co-generation units that instead of being merely 30% efficient are closer to 80% efficient. Make your electricity and hot water at the local level and you don't need thousands of miles of new, expensive and vulnerable transmission lines. These guys will want to build a bigger network of "mainframes" instead of millions of "desktop" PCs -- power centers.

But that's probably too obvious a solution.

2. I get that same feeling

the cheerleaders for Bush on CNBC said it points out how we need to get busy asap drilling and building powerplants, and get rid of those pesky environmental regulations...

OK, lets start drilling in Montana and build enough nuclear ( oops , I mean nuk-u-lar) power plants to provide that "clean energy" to the whole country. Cheney will enjoy the glow when he's retired.

5. Bad Power Management

I've heard on one cable (CNN?) channel that it was not a scarcity problem but more of a congestion problem. Way too much capacity on line getting ready for everyone to get home turn on the AC switch, and not enough demand.
It will be interesting in the next couple of days to see how this is spun.
Either way, there needs to be better infrastructure or, god forbid, conservation.
Don't bother telling Dick about conservation, Dick told CA to F-Off, we need more power, not more of that there Con-Ser-Va-Tion.

What was yesterday's big story? Arnold and the recall. Bush wouldn't pick today to knock out power to megacities from NY to Ohio.
