So it's Kerry "gloomy," Bush "optimistic."
The Bushies have no issues whatsoever. How pathetic. They have to go Madison Avenue and subliminal with their message, because they have no truth on their side.

So Bush said today that he's "optimistic." The DUer who said Bush was going to do that in order to capitalize on Reagan's optimism had it completely right. How transparent of Bush. He actually said it about himself.

It gives me the same creeps it gave me to hear him say he's a "war president" on Russert. "I'm a war president," he said about himself. Now he actually has to say "I'm optimistic." Why does he have to say these things about himself. Is he just too stupid to realize when he gets his "message of the day," that these are the things other Republicans are supposed to say about him?

Then calling Kerry "gloomy" is nothing more than the complement to this naked hucksterism. These Bushies really think people are idiots. It's just insulting. These guys have no respect for the American people. They are willing to make fools of anyone who will listen to them.

3. That seems to be the talking point that got sent out today
I caught Crossfire, and Tucker and the Congresswoman from Florida were both clearly reciting today's message.

Al Sharpton was filling in on the left, and as always was succinct and satirical.

12. This shouldn't surprise anyone.
After a week of continual bombardment about what a great optimist Reagan was, that Bush* would attempt to wrap himself in that image was a given.

Plus, he's the incumbent so everything has to be just perfect right? He has to present himself as an optimist. To do otherwise is to admit error. And we all know BushCo would never do that.

14. Just another lame move by the idiot Karl Rove.
Edited on Tue Jun-15-04 07:47 PM by Cat Atomic
The attempt to equate Bush with the Reagan myth by repeating the word "optimistic" every 20 seconds couldn't be any more transparent.

The Bush administration has managed to create an extremely cynical American public over the last 4 years. Everyone knows Bush and his crew are liars and incompetents- even the Republicans.

This continual calling up of the Reagan ghost will only throw Bush's sad reality into sharp relief. His numbers will drop even more with this pathetic PR approach.

Karl Rove, incompetent boob.
