If you listen to Air America at work, you're a slacker
according to Tweety.

He had Al Franken on last night, and Al commented that a lot of his listeners tune in at work via computer streaming.

Ole Tweets can't understand!!!!

He can't see people being able to work and listen to the radio at the same time.

Tweety needs to broaden his horizons.

1. I suppose if we listened to Rush instead
we'd be hard working!

2. Man
I'm glad Matthews can't see where I work. I sometimes watch DVD's while I work.

On the other hand, I'm not sure I would get all uptight about what Matthews thinks about my work habits anyway.

3. Maybe he feels that way
because Al FRanken is witty, incisive and intelligent. So you feel compelled to listen to his wit and wisdom. Whereas, with hannity, limbosevic, et al, they are boring, incoherant and ridiculous, so you work harder hoping to drown them out.

6. Corporate executives want their workers listening to conservative radio
As it reinforces a message of worker complicity with the corporate hierarchy.

8. If I had a job, I'd need something to keep my sanity.
I don't and so far haven't ever had a job, but if I did, I don't think I could sit at a desk or in a cubicle for hours on end and not have something else going on: music, radio, DU, SOMETHING other than work.

Maybe I'm just unemployable.:D

Yep.

9. Al just doesn't understand
When you are at work your personal freedom is nonexistant. The company owns you. In fact you should be trying to figure out ways to devote yourself to the company even more otherwise they may find some Indian who is desperate enough to do it.

11. Mathews is an ass
he is everything that made the democratic party bad under tip o'neil. He indicates that he is a democratic, but in reality he is a republican in sheeps clothing.

I haven't listened to the creep for months, and have never felt better!

12. I own my own business so I listen to what I want.
I have a small biz with several employees, and I listen to damn well what I want on my computer, Tweets!

And as long as an employee is getting his/her work done, I don't care what they listen to on the radio or their computer.

Of course Tweety is easily confused, so I can see how it might be difficult for him to do more than one thing at a time.

15. The ad/satire almost writes itself
Picture a dreary workplace. Hooded slave drivers crack whips periodically. Suddenly a beam of light enters one of the cubes and the voice of Al Fraken or Randi is heard. The hooded men quickly head towards the cube and the sound of whips cracking is heard as the screen fades to black. Up comes the Nike Swoosh logo and the moto Just Do It.

17. I'm with Fenris
When I was employed, I needed more sensory input, and having NPR on made me feel as though I was at least taking some information into my brain so the day wasn't a total waste.
I have a neighbor who works for one of the big ol' "beltway bandits" here in the No. VA burbs, and he listens to Air America at his desk...it helps soothe the revulsion he feels when he gets off the elevator and has to walk by the huge portraits of the Boy King and his Evil Sidekick.

18. I work from home...
and was delighted when Air America became a reality. Sitting by yourself in front of computer is a lot less dreary when you can hear intelligent comments from someone like Al Franken.
