4. A point Hack fails to make in this article is.......

One does not award oneself The Purple Heart.... or any other medal, for that matter. So if you've got a bitch, then bitch to The Navy and those responsible for making this award.

My Father-in-law, who is a retired Air Force, 3 War guy, who won a Silver Star and a chest full of other medals..... is a right-wing Rush repeating Right wing type guy. He brought this up about an "undeserved" Purple Heart. Being the cool guy I tend to be I screamed............."Did KERRY AWARD THIS TO PW HIMSELF? DID HE? SO WHAT'S YOUR BITCH? TAKE IT UP WITH THE NAVY............ AND ALSO......... HOW LOW DO YOU HAVE TO BE TRY AND VILIFY A FELLOW DECORATED SOLDIER. JUST HOW LOW IS THAT?

The force of my temper ended this mealtime discussion, I hate to say. Also, this came up because I was trying to get info from Col. Daddy on his being shot down in a Mustang off the coast of Okinawa in 1945.......... He lost the top of his ear on the gun sight trying to get out of his plane......... and never got the PW, which he deserved. This happened a few weeks ago and I've not had the stomach to make the inquiries about getting this 84 year olds PW.
